PROGRAM

~

Eclectic Revue in the Theater 7 to 9 pm

Jennifer Mansfield Peal sings stories. Solo tonight, Jenni will perform as the full-front troubadour that has left listeners singing her songs of love, life and laundry for over twenty-five years. She co-produces the Free Dallas Music! Songwriter's Open Mic at Half Price Books on Northwest Highway.

Tahja Starr is a professional Middle Eastern performance artist, master choreographer, and workshop instructor. Twelve years of performing have led her to infuse her own soulful style to the dance. Her dance-capades have taken her nearly around the world. She has produced two DVDs on belly-dance arms techniques and strength training.

Geoffrey Ricketts & Matt Woodbury perform with a fresh yet nostalgic spin on the Great American Songbook. With Geoffrey’s exciting and imaginative harp arrangements and Matt Woodbury's golden romantic vocals, together they serve up a bit of Champagne Jazz.

At the mid-show stretch, we’ll distribute aromatherapy inhalers from Katherine Koeppen, and hand-made incense from Philosopher’s Stone.

Singer/comedienne Laura Ainsworth's jokes and parody songs are heard on radio stations worldwide via her own radio service, The Comedy Wire. She also performs two critically-acclaimed live shows: "Cole Porter: Elegance & Decadence" with Michael Gott, and "My Ship Has Sailed," her musical parody of society's pressure to "keep young and beautiful" at all costs

Kim Bold is a musician, author, and teacher. She began playing the Native American flute almost six years ago, and also performs on pennywhistle, ocarina, Chinese bawu, and clarinet. Her book and cd, Gaia Calling, reflects her soul's path through animal symbology. She conducts workshops to teach others how to play the native flute and create the music of their soul through their own animal medicine stories

African Refugee Choir of Dallas, under the direction of Lucy Mashua of Kenya, has been hailed as “powerful, thought-provoking and uplifting” for impassioned performances of music from their homeland, as well as new compositions by Mashua. They raise awareness about the growing number of refugees from war torn African countries who immigrate to Dallas and the challenges they face. The choir will be joined by David Howard in a performance of “Comfort’s Sigh.”
